Historic Churches of Minneapolis

Wednesday, Aug. 14
Start your touring at the Basilica of St. Mary, which celebrated its first mass in 1914. This church is an excellent example of French architecture. Next tour the Westminster Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1897 and recently completed a $3.5 million renovation. Following the tours, we will have lunch at the Hen House Eatery (cup of soup, sandwich, beverage and a cookie).

Black Hills South Dakota

Aug. 21-25
Enjoy a fun-packed adventure to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, 1880 train from Keystone to Hill City, Deadwood and much more. You will spend four nights at a first-class hotel. Trip includes luxury coach bus transportation, 10 meals, daily sightseeing and a professional tour director. $978 per person double occupancy, $1,290 per person single occupancy.

Red Wing Pottery Tour

Tuesday, Sep. 17
Enjoy an introduction to the pottery museum and displays. This museum has more than 6,000 historic pieces of stoneware, art pottery dinnerware and folk art. Lunch will be at Liberty Restaurant and will feature meatloaf, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, roll, beverage and ice cream sundae. Next, enjoy a riding tour of historic Red Wing. You will then have time to wander through beautiful downtown Red Wing on your own for a little shopping. $66/members, $76/non-members. Leave the Heritage Center at 8:45 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Sign up with payment by Monday, Aug. 19.

Winona/Fountain City

Thursday, Oct. 10
First stop is the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, where you will get a tour of some of the most unique and significant marine artworks in the Midwest. Then have lunch at the Monarch Public House and follow up with Elmer’s Auto and Toy Museum.
$75/members, $85/non-members. Leave the Heritage Center at 7:45 a.m. and return at 5:15 p.m. Sign up with payment by Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center

Thursday, Nov. 7
This Historical Center in Superior, Wisconsin is a memorial to America’s leading Ace pilot of all time – Richard I. Bong. He piloted a
P-38 Lightning through more than 200 missions over the Southwest Pacific in WWII and destroyed 40 enemy planes. A guide will walk us through the Center. Lunch will be at Barker’s Island Inn at the Waterfront Grille. We will have beer battered fish and chips, coleslaw, beverage and small dessert. (Chicken Cordon Bleu is available for those who do not want fish.) On our way home, we’ll stop at the Burnett Dairy Cooperative retail store to buy cheese. $82/members, $92/non-members. Leave the Heritage Center at 7 a.m., return at 6:30 pm. Sign up with payment by Monday, Oct. 7.
