Party Planning

When planning a party, deciding how much wine, spirits, and beer to buy can often be a dilemma. This simple formula can help you determine the right amount of beverages you’ll need to ensure a successful party.

  • Determine the number of guests attending.
  • Multiply that number by the number of hours the party is intended to last. This will give you an estimated number of servings you will need.
  • Use the following chart to determine approximately how many bottles of liquor or wine you’ll need to correspond with your servings. Keep in mind the tastes of your guests. If you aren’t sure of their preferences, estimate 1/3 beer, 1/3 wine, and 1/3 spirits in your total beverage count.
This is only a suggested guideline. You know your guests best. Are they heavy, light or moderate drinkers? Is the event indoors, outdoors, daytime, or evening? Will light appetizers and snacks or a full meal be served? What type of activities will be keeping guests occupied? It’s always a good idea to serve non-alcoholic options as well. Please host responsibly.
